Euro Quality Lambs is delighted to win Family Business of the Year award 2019 at the inaugural Islam Channel Business Award ceremony in London on 1-March-2019. The awarding ceremony was held at the prestigious Hilton Metropole hotel on Edgware Road. The event attracted over 500 guests including MPs and foreign dignitaries.

The award followed a gruelling 2-stage determination process. The industry recognised judges scrutinised applications and interviewed businesses. This really put everyone through their paces.
EQL MD Rizvan Khalid remarked ‘We are delighted to win this award and I’m grateful to the judges for their endorsement. Above all, this is a team effort and I’m extremely proud of my father, mother, cousins, wife, brother, sisters, uncles and family members who have worked tirelessly and energetically for the business. The family history started from a village in Pakistan, then onto a village in Ireland, where I was born, now onto now a village in England. If there’s one message, I want to leave guests with, then it’s this – if you want quality Halal grass-fed British lamb, don’t forget the Muslim family from Shropshire Hills.’

Euro Quality Lambs (EQL) is the largest Muslim-owned lamb abattoir in Europe. It is owned by a family of British-Irish-Pakistani heritage for 26 years and who have been in the meat trade for over 45 years.
