SIAL 2022: The best of Grass-fed British Lamb in France

Euro Quality Lambs (EQL) exhibited at one of the largest food and beverage trade shows of Europe, SIAL Paris 2022.

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) organised a pavilion for top British meat exporters to exhibit at SIAL. EQL showcased its lamb portfolio at the pavilion located in Hall 6, stand 214 during 15 – 19 October.

This trade show provided an excellent opportunity to meet existing customers and discuss the potential for trade with new partners from across Europe.

There was a considerable increase in interest for EQL’s Grass-fed British lamb, Halal in particular, with both retailers and wholesalers from France, Belgium and Germany looking to develop their businesses and, to meet their customers’ expectations of high-quality lamb carcasses and offal that EQL has to offer.

AHDB organised a British Meat Dinner on Monday, 17^th October for UK exporters, trade partners, commercial agents and wider industry stakeholders at the prestigious Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. The event saw the AHDB leadership outlining their strategy for British meat trade development, complemented by a keynote speech from the British Ambassador to France. EQL team attended the dinner and enjoyed an inspiring and delicious menu with our partners and sector associates. A further highlight was bumping into renowned French and Real Madrid footballer Karim Benzema who would go on to win the Ballon d’Or that night for the very first time!

It was truly a successful exhibition and we are excited to further develop the promising discussions at the show into strong mutually-beneficial trading relationships. We look forward to meeting partners again at the next show!
